Just started reading the book and I kept having to check the cover because none of it seems to match up to anything I saw in the trailer. I'm still here for the ride but utterly confused!

So after drowning in Argylle reviews I believe I learned that the book you’re reading is not the movie that I saw - that book will likely be the story of the sequel (which takes place before Argylle the movie so it’s a prequel). This is what I’m talking about with all the IP nonsense! It’s like movies have to have multiple tie ins and universes, we can’t just have a regular ass movie anymore.

Wow, thank you for the clarification and yes I completely agree with you re: IP nonsense (one of my very large and obnoxious soapboxes). Have you seen American Fiction yet? I've heard great things about it (and it sounds like it's pretty original IP) but can't be bothered to go to the theater, especially since I hear it'll be available to stream on Amazon Prime any day now.

I haven’t seen it but want to! One of the articles I linked actually calls out American Fiction as a movie that did it right so I have a good feeling about that one.
