Typically how crowded is the museum mile festival? My dad is visiting that day for early Father’s Day and we’d love a free father-daughter museum trip but not if it involves the type of lines seen at the frick or MoMa on free Fridays
I've never actually gone because I'm afraid of what the crowds might be haha. I tend to take days off of work and go to museums at off-peak times because I don't like crowds. So in short, I don't know how crowded it'll be, but I imagine it will definitely be pretty packed.
I think the more popular museums will definitely have the longest lines (Met + Guggenheim, maybe Cooper Hewitt due to proximity). You kind of have to weigh how valuable the free entry is for you against your ability to tolerate crowds.
