I've wanted to watch Shrinking and this review is a compelling reason to! Also: what gym class did you attend that I didn't because I have NO recollection of pickleball (before my parents discovered it two years ago (and played twice)).
I distinctly remember them cutting badminton short one year because of this cool new sport called pickle ball that some gym teacher heard about. It wasn’t during our later card playing gym years, must have been 7th-ish grade? I hated it then and I hate it now - it’s a dumb fucking game with an even dumber name.
Huh... I wonder if self-serve ramen is taking off in North America now. I *just* saw a video about a Korean grocery store in Toronto that opened up a self-serve ramyun counter - exactly what you've described Instant Noodle Factory to be like. Never tried it before, but excited for your review!!
I feel like I’ve seen a huge influx of Asian (I’m generalizing) businesses in NYC lately. Trendy gashapon places, cafes with over the top treats, and omakase literally everywhere. Even in my neighborhood, which has been largely Hispanic for a long time, lots of Asian businesses are opening. It’s super interesting seeing these changes and I’m always curious how other folks feel about them.
S&P has been on my list for forever!! And I’ve never had an egg cream. I think I know what I’ll be doing this weekenddddd 🥂 congrats on 100 subs! I love your newsletter and hope to see more and more faces on here :)
Thank you so much - I'm so glad you enjoy reading this! Egg creams are truly perfect for this hot weather we're having, lighter than a milkshake but just as cooling 😎
S&P is great but can definitely get crowded on weekends so prepare yourself. I'd love to hear about your egg cream experience wherever you decide to go!

S&P is so good!!
One of those places that is definitely not overrated - a true NY experience.
